The Senior B2B Marketing Manager oversees business-to-business marketing for the Academy, including Commercial Solutions, exhibits, sponsorships, business development, Career Center B2B efforts, and the family of AAOS data Registries, including the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR), American Spine Registry (ASR), Shoulder & Elbow Registry (SER), Musculoskeletal Tumor Registry (MsTR), and Orthobiologics Registry (OBR). This role also provides consultative marketing support for other B2B-related programs, products, and projects as assigned.

This position partners closely with internal clients and peers across Marketing, Communications, and Membership to identify growth opportunities, develop demand generation strategies, and support revenue-generating initiatives across the Academy. The Senior B2B Marketing Manager plans, develops, and implements integrated marketing campaigns for assigned AAOS products, services, programs, and business opportunities, ensuring marketing objectives are met through strategic planning, strong execution, performance measurement, and continuous optimization.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and evolve AAOS’ B2B marketing strategy, ensuring clear positioning, value messaging, future planning, and alignment with industry trends and the Academy’s mission.
  • Develop and execute integrated, omni-channel marketing plans for assigned AAOS products, programs, services, research initiatives, and business opportunities, including B2B-focused LinkedIn campaigns and go-to-market strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with product owners and business line leaders, serving as a strategic marketing partner through regular communication, reporting, consultation, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Manage marketing projects from planning through execution, including timelines, creative strategy, promotional schedules, copy development, approvals, vendor coordination, and collaboration with internal teams and AAOS channels.
  • Coordinate and support the development, deployment, versioning, and performance tracking of email campaigns through HubSpot and social campaigns through Sprout.
  • Use key performance metrics, dashboards, Power BI reporting, and campaign results to evaluate effectiveness, optimize performance, and provide meaningful insights to leadership and product owners.
  • Manage project-related expenses, develop budgets, maintain financial reports, and prepare forecasts and recommendations to support short- and long-term budget planning.
  • Prepare or coordinate competitive market analyses, promotional recommendations, campaign results, marketing strategies, and related presentations for AAOS staff, committees, or governance groups as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to marketing operations, workflow optimization, automation, data governance, reporting efficiency, and marketing technology integration.
  • Assist with marketing planning and coordination for the AAOS Annual Meeting and other external society conferences or tradeshows, including planning, promotion, meeting preparation, attendance, and budgeting as needed.
  • Traffic marketing materials through internal and external approval processes and ensure production schedules are met across AAOS channels, including website updates in Optimizely, PR support, member communications, social media, direct mail, and related content needs.
  • Maintain AAOS brand standards and help develop, refine, and uphold brand guidelines for assigned programs, products, and marketing channels.
  • Manage one direct report, providing oversight for Registries marketing strategy and execution while mentoring the team member to build business acumen and marketing skills.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 4-6 years of progressively responsible marketing experience with emphasis on B2B marketing, account-based marketing, sales enablement, health care, and/or related products/programs 
  • Experience with automation software platforms to deploy and manage email campaigns, list segmentation, and nurture campaigns (HubSpot)
  • Understanding of content marketing strategies and using digital tactics to reach desired outcomes 
  • Demonstrated experience in conceptualizing and executing marketing plans, employing a variety media and vehicles in the integrated marketing communications mix 
  • Outstanding ability in written and oral communication, including promotional copy, presentation and report writing 
  • Excellent organizational skills and teamwork orientation 
  • Experience with vendor management and vetting
  • Proficient with layout software applications; Adobe Suite preferred to do/coordinate basic design functions to size/resize images for email, banners, website, and PDFs
  • Marketing technology knowledge needed – email deployment, list segmentation, Power BI reporting, website page creation and maintenance (Optimizely). Target and retargeting paid ad knowledge, Google Analytics, SEO, SEM, AEO and understanding of social campaigns experience
  • Keeping current with best practices in email marketing and automation strategies

Desired:

Travel: Up to 10 days per year

Salary Range: $102,000–$105,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
