Political Action Committee (PAC) Director

In this role, you’ll oversee fundraising, disbursement strategy, compliance, and outreach while working closely with leadership, volunteers, and legislative affairs teams. You’ll also serve as lead staff to the PAC Executive Committee and play a key role in shaping advocacy success.

What You’ll Do:
- Direct the daily operations, fundraising, and disbursement strategy of a multi-million-dollar PAC
- Lead PAC strategy, budgeting, compliance, and reporting in line with FEC regulations
- Serve as lead staff to the PAC Executive Committee and Resident Assembly Health Policy Committee
- Plan and execute political events, fundraisers, fly-ins, and in-district activities
- Build and manage donor programs, including the Advisor’s Circle and peer-to-peer initiatives
- Develop outreach materials, communications, and fundraising campaigns
- Represent AAOS at political events and meetings with Members of Congress
- Oversee PAC communications including newsletters, reports, website updates, and advocacy content
- Collaborate with legislative affairs teams to align strategy with advocacy goals
- Research political races and provide funding recommendations
- Ensure compliance with campaign finance laws and reporting requirements
Travel:
- Up to 60 days per year.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Six years of government relations experience
- Experience managing a PAC through at least two election cycles
- Supervisory experience
- Strong networking and negotiation skills
- Association management experience
- Knowledge of the legislative process and grassroots advocacy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills across formats (issue papers, newsletters, fundraising appeals, reports, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desired:
- Corporate fundraising experience
- Database management experience
- Experience with PAC and grassroots advocacy software programs
- Familiarity with the medical PAC community
- Established contacts with Capitol Hill or Members of Congress
Salary Range: $102,000 - $105,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
